Intro

In this article, I will continue the previous article and talk about my journey of declutter before and after in different spaces specifically.

Kitchen

You can appreciate the beauty of your kitchen by storing away unused utensils in cupboards and drawers.

Once you let go of all the unnecessary and redundant kitchen gadgets and collect the kitchen items you don’t use often, you can enjoy the beauty of your home.

What clutter is taking over your kitchen table? Are you using them? If not, give them to someone who will use them. Or, if you only use them occasionally, or throw them away, you can always find replacements.

If you have a mountain of food in your kitchen, it’s time to give it some air. Keep the healthy and fresh ones and throw away the rest or give it away to someone in need.

Follow the principle of buying as much as you can eat. If possible, buy the fresh food of the day and finish it.

As far as I am concerned, I don’t have a kitchen, and I don’t have a separate fire. I eat my main meal in the canteen, but I will buy some eggs (it’s delicious to boil eggs in a hot water kettle in the morning), as well as fruits, vegetables and nuts as snacks. healthy diet. These can be eaten raw without cooking utensils (a hot water bottle does not count as kitchen utensils), except for a knife, a pair of chopsticks and a bowl, and then throw away all other excess and unhealthy food. Now I feel like I need very little.

Wardrobe

Simplify your clothes so you can enjoy each item more.

What does a minimalist wear? He wears his favorite clothes every day, including T-shirts, jeans, skirts, suits, and other clothing that makes him feel happy. Do you want to fall in love with your wardrobe? Then get rid of the clothes you hate, the clothes that no longer fit your size, the clothes you no longer wear, and keep only the ones you love most.

How to do it? Try our 90/90 rule. Have you worn this item of clothing in the past ninety days? If not, will you wear it in the next ninety days? If not, you can safely throw it away. Maybe your rule isn’t ninety days, but 120 days, or maybe it’s six months. Whatever your rule is, stay honest with yourself.

decluttering before and after

If your possessions no longer serve a purpose or bring you pleasure, they may be preventing you from living a more meaningful life and having a wardrobe you love more. Do you still have clothes that you wear but don’t enjoy?

When I was sorting out my clothes, I found that there were only a few that I really liked, and only a few that I clearly hated, so the rest were hovering between hating and liking. What should I do? After sorting it out, you still can’t get rid of it, so here’s a good idea: put all the clothes that you can’t judge temporarily into a cardboard box and seal them. If you still haven’t worn them after ninety days, just throw them away. My experience is that most of them will never be taken out again, with only a few exceptions. Of course, if you take the season into consideration, then ninety days is a quarter, so it is best for you to sort out the clothes of that season. If you want to sort out all the clothes at once, extend the time to one year, so There should be no more misjudgments and waste.

Bedroom

Move the TV out of the bedroom. A bed has only two functions (sleeping and sleeping), but it does not include watching TV.

Looking around us, we are miserable in the midst of a deluge of multitasking. Everyone is trying to be more efficient at work and in their private lives by using high-tech gadgets such as smartphones, tablets, and computers. Multi-threaded tasks are a feature of our lives. But we have to admit that no matter how many tasks we do at the same time, no matter how many email messages and updates we respond to at the same time, we can never get everything done. This is because, once we complete everything, there are infinite tasks waiting for us.

Bedroom extreme decluttering before and after

We are bombarded with an explosion of information, so it is imperative to find a piece of pure space in a private space, such as a study, dining table, and especially the bedroom.

Try not to watch TV, surf the Internet or send text messages in bed. Can’t you do these things elsewhere and at other times? Is there a TV in your bedroom? If so, imagine what your life would be like without television?

The bedroom is just one of the places. Our private space has its own sacred meaning. The sleeping place is dedicated to sleeping, the reading place is dedicated to reading, and the entertainment place is dedicated to entertaining. This kind of private space is relaxing. Contemporary society pays attention to multi-threading and multi-tasking, working hand in hand, but these are methods that appear to be efficient but are actually inefficient. When returning home, of course people need a space to clean up their hearts. Imagine being in an exclusive space, where you don’t have to worry about other things and can naturally do specific things in a specific environment. This is a very relaxing feeling.

I personally designate specific areas to do, so that when I am in a certain area, I will perform the task as a conditioned reflex, and because other clutter that may interfere with my concentration is cleared, I can concentrate on one thing. For example, when you are reading and there is only one book on the desk that you want to read, you will naturally only read this book; when you are eating, if there are only bowls, chopsticks and food on the table, you will not look at your mobile phone or anything else, and you will only focus on eating.
